About

A freelance editor for eight years, I have a PhD in sociology and an editing certificate from the University of Chicago’s Professional Editing Program. I offer copyediting and developmental and inclusive editing in scholarly texts and general nonfiction. Before starting my editorial business, I was a faculty member and researcher in higher ed and later, a senior manager at a data consulting firm. But social justice issues are deeply embedded in my DNA.

I am passionate about authors being true to themselves. Writing is meant to be liberating; so, I encourage the authors I work with not to hold back but to integrate their perspectives in their writings.

I live in the Chicago area with my husband and an assortment of saltwater fish. When I am not editing, I run a movie website focused on critical analysis of film and discuss movie and film industry trends on a podcast with my family.
